Meagan Good and her partner Jonathan Majors made a dazzling appearance at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles, marking their first major award show outing together since Majors' conviction for assault in a domestic abuse case unrelated to Good in December 2023. Despite the legal ordeal, the actress and model appeared content with her relationship with Majors.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE on the event's red carpet, Good opened up about her personal and professional life amidst these turbulent times. Referring to her bond with Majors, Good said, "I’m in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing, and I’m getting excited about what’s next. Yes, quite a few things at once. However, I can state that right now is the happiest I’ve been in a long time."

Addressing the scrutiny surrounding her relationship amidst Majors' legal troubles, as well as her mental well-being and self-care practices during this challenging period, Good emphasised the importance of staying true to herself. "I keep my eyes on God, you know, that’s the focus. And I continue to be genuine and loyal to who I am," she told PEOPLE. "If you’re genuine and true to yourself, everything else eventually catches up with what you already know."
Regarding the comments on her relationship, Good asserted, "Sometimes you have to say, ‘I don’t have time for that.’ I’ll go check on my nephew now. I’ll check out what my mother is doing. Let me check on my man. Let me go get this job."

Majors was convicted in December of misdemeanour assault and harassment in connection with an altercation with his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in New York City in March 2023. However, this didn't deter Good from supporting him, as the couple attended their second public event together this month at the NAACP awards show.
Good's relationship with Majors blossomed following her split from her husband, DeVon Franklin, in December 2021, after nine years of marriage. Additionally, the actress is set to star in Tyler Perry’s Amazon film, Divorce in the Black, where she will portray a banking expert grappling with her spouse's decision to leave their marriage.
