Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel team up in an unexpected partnership in their new film, 'The Christophers.'
In the first trailer, McKellen, 86, plays Julian, a once-celebrated artist whose best days appear to be behind him. His children, played by Jessica Gunning and James Corden, secretly hire another painter, portrayed by Coel, 38, to finish a series of his well-known works.
More About 'The Christophers'
The film is directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by Ed Solomon. The title refers to the collection of paintings at the centre of the story. It does not take long for Coel's character to realise that she has been brought in to copy Julian's signature style and essentially forge his art.
