Amanda Seyfried believes in being fully prepared, especially when a role calls for vulnerable scenes.
While filming her new historical drama, 'The Testament of Ann Lee,' Seyfried took an extra step ahead of several nude scenes. During an appearance on 'The Scott Mills Breakfast Show,' she shared that she wore a prosthetic body part during filming to make sure everything was covered from every possible angle.

She explained that the film needed to feel raw and realistic, so she chose to use the prosthetic. When asked what the experience was like, she described it as cool and exciting, making it clear she felt comfortable with the creative choice.

The film, directed by Mona Fastvold, who co-wrote it with her husband Brady Corbet, tells the story of Ann Lee, an 18th-century English woman. After losing four children, Lee turned deeply to religion and eventually founded the Shaker movement. The story follows her spiritual journey, including persecution, visions and the group's eventual move to New York during the colonial era.
Although Amanda Seyfried filmed intense scenes—including one in which she appears pregnant and another standing in front of a burning building wearing only minimal coverage—the specific prosthetic detail never actually appears on screen. She joked that viewers would not see it, but assured them that it was there.

When asked why the production went to that level of detail if audiences would never notice, Seyfried playfully responded that it was simply in case, and teased that maybe it would help get people into theatres.
For Amanda Seyfried, it was all part of fully committing to the role and bringing authenticity to a powerful historical story.
