Miley Cyrus has responded to online criticism following accusations that she and Naomi Campbell ignored fans during a recent signing event in London. The appearance took place on Saturday, 21st June, at Rough Trade to mark the release of Cyrus’s new single ‘Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved’, from her latest album ‘Something Beautiful’. The track features a guest appearance by supermodel Naomi Campbell, who also joined her at the event to sign vinyl copies.
Following the event, several attendees expressed disappointment on social media, claiming that both Cyrus and Campbell appeared more focused on speaking with each other than engaging with the fans present.
Cyrus has since addressed the backlash via an Instagram post shared on 25 June. In her message, she thanked those who attended, stating that she recognised many familiar faces and appreciated meeting new ones. She also clarified that the store had requested no photos due to an unexpectedly large turnout, but noted that the moment still needed to be documented. Cyrus also expressed her appreciation, saying that both she and Campbell were thankful to everyone who showed up to celebrate the single.
Campbell also shared a post on Instagram, appearing to defend Cyrus, where she spoke about the joy of joining her in London and highlighted her vibrant energy, sharp memory, and warmth towards fans. She expressed her thanks to everyone who attended and said they truly felt the audience’s love that evening.

‘Something Beautiful’ Draws Praise Amid Fan Confusion Over Film Screening
Despite the controversy, ‘Something Beautiful’ has been described as an ambitious and fully realised artistic work, though not necessarily packed with mainstream hits. One track, ‘Reborn’, was noted for its theatrical, genre-defying sound, likened to an Andrew Lloyd Webber tune composed under mild hallucination.
Separately, Cyrus faced more fan frustration at a recent screening of her accompanying film, where some attendees, reportedly expecting a live concert, voiced their disappointment — with one viral clip capturing someone shouting, “We thought this was a concert! We paid $800!”
