Pop superstar Miley Cyrus has publicly expressed her enthusiasm for contributing original music to the highly acclaimed TV series 'Heated Rivalry' ahead of its second season. While attending the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Cyrus told Variety and other media that, while not having seen the series yet, she's "so in" for helping shape the show's soundtrack. From Breakout Hit to Cultural Sensation: Heated Rivalry's Rise

'Heated Rivalry' emerged in late 2025 and swiftly rose to prominence as one of the most talked-about television shows. The drama, which is based on Rachel Reid's 'Game Changers' novels, follows Russian rival Ilya Rozanov and Canadian professional hockey player Shane Hollander as they negotiate the conflicts of being lovers off the rink and foes on it. 'Heated Rivalry' boasts outstanding supporting performances by François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, and Dylan Walsh in addition to leading actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie.

After premiering on Canada's Crave platform, the series expanded internationally on HBO Max, where it became a top streaming hit thanks to its compelling storytelling, chemistry between the leads, and LGBTQ+ representation. The show was able to receive considerable accolades and a devoted following from both critics and viewers for its emotional honesty, complex characters, and soundtrack that enhanced its emotional beats. Due to its popularity, Season 2 was renewed early and is expected to continue examining the intricacies of love, rivalry, and identity in the context of competitive sports and personal development.

At the Critics Choice Awards, François Arnaud—who plays Scott Hunter—reacted to Cyrus' comments with a blend of humour and curiosity. He joked that while Season 2 might secure a bigger budget, he wasn't sure if it would stretch to a "Miley budget," quipping that maybe Cyrus would offer a discount after seeing the show.
