Molly Ringwald Dominates Batsheva Runway at New York Fashion Week

Molly Ringwald has seamlessly transitioned from a front-row regular to a captivating catwalk queen, leaving her mark at New York Fashion Week.

The 55-year-old ‘Sixteen Candles’ star, known for making a statement during Fashion Week, took a nostalgic stroll down memory lane, channelling her ’80s teen queen era on the Batsheva runway. The Golden Globe nominee, currently starring in Feud: Capote vs.

The Swans, graced the show alongside models over 40, including River’s Edge actress Ione Skye. Batsheva’s runway aimed to spotlight the unique experiences of ageing.

Ringwald showcased two distinctive outfits during her runway appearance. The all-purple ensemble exuded ’80s vibes with its exaggerated shoulders, matching belt and below-the-knee length. The second, an all-black outfit, presented a more modern look, featuring a unique head-covering and a black hand warmer.

Accentuating the runway with her radiant makeup, courtesy of Laura Geller Beauty, Ringwald’s appearance harmonized with the collection’s theme. Inspired by femininity translated through designs with historical references, Batsheva’s collection blended modern fabrics and colours.

Before commanding attention at Batsheva, Ringwald attended Helmut Lang’s show in Brooklyn, dressed in a chic black tailored suit accented with honey-yellow stripes on the pants, perfectly matching her button-up. Demonstrating her fashion-forward approach, she even sported shades indoors, elevating the cool factor of her look.

Reflecting on her iconic film looks, Ringwald revealed a desire to still possess some memorable outfits. Speaking at the New York City Ballet’s 2023 Fall Gala, she expressed a wish to still have her clothes from ‘The Breakfast Club’ and her prom dress from ‘Pretty in Pink’.
