Nicholas Galitzine to Play He-Man in ‘Masters Of The Universe’

Nicholas Galitzine is set to take his career to the next level with an exciting new project. The actor, known for his successful romantic comedies like ‘The Idea of You’ and ‘Red, White & Royal Blue,’ is stepping into the role of the legendary action hero He-Man. This live-action adaptation of the ‘Masters of the Universe’ franchise is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios.

Galitzine, who has charmed audiences alongside stars like Taylor Zakhar Perez and Anne Hathaway, is now ready to swap romance for action. His transition from heartthrob to superhero marks a significant milestone in his career.

While the plot details of ‘Masters of the Universe’ are still under wraps, we do know that Travis Knight, known for his work with the Mattel franchise, will direct the film. The script has seen contributions from a talented team including Chris Butler, David Callaham, Aaron Nee, and Adam Nee.

The film is set to be produced by Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, and Robbie Brenner from Mattel Films. According to Deadline, the highly anticipated release date is 5th June 2026. Julie Rapaport, head of film production at Amazon MGM, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “We’re thrilled to bring the beloved ‘Masters of the Universe’ to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man.”

Rapaport assured fans that the film, supported by major production houses like Mattel, will be an epic adventure. “The film will delight audiences from here to Eternia,” she added.

He-Man, known as the most powerful superhero in his universe, was first introduced in 1982 through action figures. The following year, the animated series ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ debuted, quickly gaining popularity. Over the years, the franchise has expanded through numerous remakes, toys, and video games, maintaining a strong presence in pop culture.
