Fans of Witchy Sisterhood will be happy to hear that Nicole Kidman posted on Instagram on 13th September, that filming for 'Practical Magic 2' is finally over. Along with original cast members Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing as Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny, Kidman and Sandra Bullock will return in the sequel as Gillian and Sally Owens, respectively.

The movie, which is based on Alice Hoffman's book 'The Book of Magic,' was written and directed by Georgia Pritchett and Akiva Goldsman. On 18th September, 2026, the sequel will be released in theaters. In addition to the existing cast, Joey King (playing one of Sally's daughters), Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod are among the new actors joining. Notably, Kylie from the original, played by Evan Rachel Wood, will not be making a comeback.

In a lighthearted behind-the-scenes video that Kidman shared on Instagram, she and Bullock can be seen celebrating on set as they walk hand in hand into a sunset and then giggle as they consider the magic of bringing these characters back to life.

After its 1998 debut, the original movie became a cult favorite that many people adored. The narrative centers on the lives of two witch sisters who, following the death of their parents in a terrible accident, move in with their aunts. While one sister embraces her abilities a bit too well, the other grows up hating her witchy and magical side.
When a family curse is discovered, things gradually become more complicated and both sisters must cooperate to break it. With its blend of romance and drama, this fantasy movie was a huge hit when it first came out.
