Olivia Rodrigo Debuts ‘So American’ Performance Amid Louis Partridge Relationship

Olivia Rodrigo subtly altered the lyrics of her song ‘So American’ during a recent concert, sparking speculation among fans about a romantic nod to her boyfriend, actor Louis Partridge.

In the original studio version, Rodrigo sings, “I don’t wanna assume this stuff/But ain’t it love?/Think I’m in love.” However, during her performance in Dublin, she made a slight alteration, ending the line with a more definitive statement, “‘Cause I’m in love,” as captured in a fan video shared online.

Louis Partridge, whom Rodrigo has been romantically linked with since October, was among the audience in Dublin, marking the occasion as the beginning of Rodrigo’s European leg of her Guts World Tour.

The live performance of ‘So American’ in Dublin was the song’s debut, originally released in March as part of the deluxe version of her album ‘Guts (Spilled)’. Speculation about the song being related to her relationship with the 20-year-old British actor stems from its lyrics, which allude to a lover teasing her for being ‘So American’.

Their public appearances together have been sporadic yet notable. In early December, following Rodrigo’s performance, they were seen together at the afterparty. Days later, photographs surfaced of them sharing a kiss at a gas station in New York City, seemingly confirming their relationship. More recently, they were spotted after a dinner date in Los Angeles in April.

Despite occasional public glimpses, both Rodrigo and Partridge have maintained a level of privacy regarding their romance. Partridge expressed his views on dating in the public eye in a March interview with British Vogue, suggesting that he prefers to keep such matters private.
