Owen Wilson is returning to the Focker franchise, joining Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in Universal’s forthcoming comedy, ‘Meet the Parents 4’. Wilson, who currently stars in Apple TV+’s well-received series ‘Stick’, will reprise his role as the charming ex-fiancé featured in the original 2000 film and its two sequels.
Teri Polo, who played Stiller’s on-screen partner in the first three movies, is also back on the cast list, while Oscar-nominated singer Ariana Grande is set to make her feature-film debut as the new fiancée. John Hamburg, who co-wrote the original trilogy, has written the new screenplay and will direct, with Universal eyeing a 25 November 2026 release. Paramount Pictures will co-produce and handle international distribution.
The inaugural ‘Meet the Parents’ followed Greg Focker (Stiller) as he navigated the disapproval of his girlfriend’s strict father. Subsequent instalments expanded the family dynamic—2004’s ‘Meet the Fockers’ introduced Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand, and 2010’s ‘Little Fockers’ focused on the couple’s children.

Plot Focus And Production Team
Sources reveal that the plot of the new entry centres on Greg and Polo’s son, who becomes engaged to a fiercely independent woman—Grand will portray the bride-to-be. Jane Rosenthal and De Niro will produce under Tribeca Productions, with Gary Goetzman for Delirious Media, Stiller and John Lesher via Red Hour Films, and Hamburg through Particular Pictures.
Wilson’s last theatrical appearance was in 2023’s ‘Haunted Mansion’, and he has since returned to television, reprising his role as Mobius in season two of Disney+’s ‘Loki’. He is represented by UTA and Hirsch Wallerstein.
