Pedro Pascal has revealed that his clean-shaven appearance in 'Wonder Woman 1984' left such a lasting impression on him—for all the wrong reasons—that he has kept facial hair ever since.

While gearing up for the release of his upcoming Marvel movie 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', where he takes on the role of Reed Richards — better known as Mr. Fantastic —Pascal appeared in LADbible’s Agree to Disagree video series alongside co-star Vanessa Kirby. When asked whether beards or moustaches are sexier, the actor didn't hesitate to say he avoids going clean-shaven whenever possible.

Pedro Pascal on His 'Wonder Woman' Look

Pedro Pascal admitted that he feels his facial hair doesn’t grow perfectly, but he strongly dislikes how he looks without it. Reflecting on his appearance in 'Wonder Woman 1984', where he played villain Maxwell Lord, he said it left him so disappointed with his on-screen image that he vowed not to shave unless required for a role. He emphasised that while he enjoyed the film itself, the experience made him avoid clean-shaven looks in all subsequent roles—including 'The Fantastic Four', where he sports a light beard. He also noted that the character design for the film was developed collaboratively, giving him some say in his look.

In 'Wonder Woman 1984', Pedro Pascal took on the role of a greedy businessman who gets his hands on a magical object called the Dreamstone—and uses it for all the wrong reasons. Though the film received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office, Pascal's performance was widely discussed, though not his favourite for aesthetic reasons.

'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' is set to hit theatres on 22nd July.

Pedro Pascal recently also shared that he once considered quitting acting to pursue a career in nursing, further showing how far his journey in Hollywood has come.
