Wilson talks about their six-month romance, which started when Hana Mae Lee, her co-star in ‘Pitch Perfect,' introduced them. She says that after learning that her mother had cancer, she went through a period of self-discovery and seized the chance to try new things, including intimacy. This is how she met Gooch.
Wilson talks about her preparation for the moment, which happened during a hotel stay while filming ‘How to Be Single,' despite her initial anxiety. As she thinks back on it, she describes the bonding sensation of feeling wanted despite her weight and experiencing "lovely s*x chemicals" for the first time.
Wilson admits that their relationship ended after their first meaningful trip together, but she still gives Gooch credit for making her feel wanted and loved.

When speaking about her choice to reveal this private part of her life in her memoir, Wilson says she wants to give young people a positive message by stressing the value of maturity and readiness and pointing out that losing one's virginity is not something that should be done quickly.
Wilson welcomed her first child, Royce Lillian, through surrogacy in November 2022. Wilson and Ramona Agruma have been engaged since June 2022.
