Rupert Friend Joins Cast as Lead in Upcoming ‘Jurassic World’ Film

‘The Jurassic World’ franchise has become a beloved staple in the action/fiction genres, boasting an impressive lineup of iconic actors such as Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, and Nick Robinson in its previous instalments.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming film, the main cast has been unveiled, with Jonathan Bailey, Scarlett Johansson, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo already announced. Now, adding to the excitement, Rupert Friend has been confirmed to join the ensemble, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Friend’s impressive filmography includes notable roles in movies like ‘Asteroid City’, directed by Wes Anderson, as well as ‘Pride & Prejudice’, ‘The Young Victoria’, and ‘Hitman: Agent 47’.

Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, who penned the screenplay for previous Jurassic Park films, the new instalment has garnered additional buzz with legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg on board as an executive producer through Amblin Entertainment.

The diverse and talented cast, including Bailey, Johansson, Friend, and Rulfo, has generated significant anticipation among fans. It will be thrilling to see these actors come together in the next chapter of the Jurassic World saga.

Bailey’s involvement was teased by the actor himself on ‘The Tonight Show’ Starring Jimmy Fallon and via an Instagram post from Universal Studios, where he hinted at his participation with a cryptic caption and dinosaur emoji.

Production for the film is scheduled to commence in mid-June 2024 in London, with a theatrical release date set for 2nd July 2025, according to reports.
