Ryan Reynolds has suggested there may not be another standalone 'Deadpool' movie, hinting that the character's future could be as part of ensemble stories rather than leading his own films.
While Deadpool is expected to appear in Marvel's upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday,' Reynolds said he no longer sees the character at the centre of a solo movie. Instead, he believes Deadpool works best as a supporting player, especially in team settings.
Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool's Future
Ryan Reynolds has indicated he has ideas for the character, but feels another solo film could risk repeating what has already been done. He has previously said Deadpool's story thrives when the character is pushed into difficult situations, and recreating that in a fourth standalone movie may feel too familiar.

He has also expressed interest in seeing Deadpool interact with the Avengers or X-Men while still remaining an outsider, which he sees as essential to the character's identity.
Reynolds first played Wade Wilson in 2016's 'Deadpool,' followed by 'Deadpool 2' in 2018 and the blockbuster 'Deadpool & Wolverine' in 2024.
Meanwhile, 'Avengers: Doomsday' is gearing up to be a massive Marvel showdown, with Robert Downey Jr. making a dramatic return to the franchise—this time stepping into the villainous role of Doctor Doom. The film also features stars from the Fantastic Four and X-Men, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby.
The film is currently set for release on 18th December after moving from its original May 2026 date.
