Fans in Liverpool have caught a first look at the actors playing the Fab Four in Sam Mendes' highly anticipated 'Beatles' biopics. A series of exclusive postcards surfaced at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts—a school Paul McCartney himself helped start—giving students and locals a glimpse of the cast in their period-appropriate gear.

The ambitious four-film project is currently set to hit theatres all at once in April 2028. Paul Mescal leads the group as Paul McCartney, joined by Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.

Paul Mescal on Beatles Biopics

Paul Mescal recently shared that the project is a massive undertaking that will keep him busy throughout 2026. He admitted that he and his fellow actors are still pinching themselves over being involved in such a unique cinematic event.

For Mescal, who has been on a whirlwind run since his breakout in 'Normal People,' the role also offers him a welcome chance to stay grounded in London for a while. To get ready, he's been spending time with McCartney and confirmed he will be doing his own singing in the films.

Beatles Biopics Postcards

The postcards found at the school specifically highlighted Mescal as McCartney, while other promotional images for the rest of the band have started popping up online. Each of the four movies will focus on the story from the perspective of a single band member, making this the first time a film project has been granted full access to the Beatles' entire song catalogue.

The cast is filled with other familiar faces, including Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney and Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono. Ringo Starr even weighed in on the scripts, noting that he provided detailed feedback to make sure the scenes involving him and his late wife, Maureen, felt authentic to how they actually lived.

Giles Martin, the son of the band's legendary producer George Martin, is also involved. He praised the actors for doing a fantastic job and described the scripts as brave rather than safe. While some cast members, like Mia McKenna-Bruce, admitted they weren't huge fans of the band growing up, the excitement on set is clearly high.

Paul Mescal joked that after this massive project is done, he might need to take a break from the spotlight—and give the audience a break from him, too.
