Sarah Hyland’s Ex-Boyfriend Matt Prokop Arrested For Assualt

Sarah Hyland’s former partner, Matt Prokop, has found himself in trouble with the law once again, this time in Victoria, Texas. Reports suggest that he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his current girlfriend.

The incident came to light when the local authorities responded to a distress call on a Saturday, prompted by Prokop’s girlfriend reporting an assault. However, by the time the officers arrived at the scene, the couple had already departed. Later, they were located by the police in response to another disturbance call within Victoria.

According to statements from Victoria PD Sergeant Dailey, it’s alleged that Prokop had engaged in physical violence towards his girlfriend, including pushing her and causing injuries severe enough to warrant an arrest.

This is not the first time Prokop’s name has been associated with such allegations. Back in September 2014, Sarah Hyland, best known for her role in ‘Modern Family’, accused Prokop of choking and threatening her life. Court documents at the time revealed the depth of Hyland’s fear, detailing how she felt endangered during the altercation: “His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life.”

Consequently, a restraining order was issued against Prokop, mandating that he stay at least 100 yards away from Hyland and her pet dog. Despite the legal proceedings, Hyland showed resilience in the face of adversity. In October 2014, she publicly addressed the ordeal, drawing inspiration from the works of Dylan Thomas and Robert Frost to convey her determination to overcome the challenges she faced.

Hyland eventually moved on from the relationship and found happiness with Wells Adams, a bartender from Bachelor in Paradise. The couple tied the knot in August 2022 at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, California, following Adams’ proposal in July 2019 after two years of dating.
