Shakira Says Her Sons Dislike Barbies, Faces Criticism

Shakira recently opened up about her son’s aversion to Barbie dolls, admitting that they “hated it” because they found it “emasculating.” In an interview with Allure, the artist shared her perspective, expressing a desire for her sons to feel empowered while also respecting women.

She explained that while she wants to empower women through pop culture, she believes it shouldn’t come at the expense of men’s masculinity. Shakira emphasized the importance of men and women complementing each other’s roles in society without losing their essence or femininity.
