The ‘In My Blood’ singer has announced that, after much anticipation, his fifth studio album, Shawn, will soon be released. According to a press release, this album is described as Mendes' "most musically intimate and lyrically honest work to date," featuring a "profound self-dialogue" across its 12 tracks.
The Grammy-nominated artist teased the upcoming album on social media with a black-and-white video for his new folksy song ‘Isn’t That Enough’. Another single, ‘Why Why Why’, will also be released soon. Both tracks are set to drop at a special time on his birthday.

Alongside the video, which serves as the album trailer, Mendes shared the personal journey behind recording this project in a heartfelt Instagram post. "Music really can be medicine," he wrote. "2 years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift."
He expressed gratitude for his friends and family, stating, "Honestly thank God for my friends and family. Life can be brutal but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I have no idea how I would have made it through the last couple of years let alone make an album without you."
Mendes further thanked his close circle and fans for their "unbelievably supportive and patient" presence throughout the album's creation. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he concluded. "I really hope you love this album, I do. I really really do. I hope it makes you feel warm and close to the earth like it does for me."
In another post, Mendes reflected on recording in a special studio in Washington. He described the experience as "extremely special," noting, "I feel like this was when we really started to tap into the essence of the album and everything and it just started to flow." He wished he could share every moment of the album’s creation, emphasizing how healing and memorable the process was for him.
