Shemar Moore Opens Up About Fatherhood, ‘Baby-Stepping’ His Way

Shemar Moore is relishing his role as a father and is making a conscious effort to spend quality time with his 13-month-old daughter, Frankie Meleine, born in January 2023 to his girlfriend Jesiree Dizon. The 53-year-old ‘S.W.A.T.’ actor shared insights into his experience of fatherhood on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show,’ describing it as “crazy” but expressing his enjoyment.

When asked about the possibility of more children, Moore emphasized his current focus on cherishing the time with Frankie. As an only child himself, he acknowledged his mother’s attention and is now relishing the opportunity to spoil his daughter.

Moore admitted to still getting the hang of fatherhood, especially considering Dizon’s previous experience as a mom to two children from past relationships.

Acknowledging his learning curve, Moore shared, “I’m baby-stepping, just trying to figure it all out, thank goodness for [Jesiree] because I just follow her lead in mommy-hood and fatherhood and all that.” He expressed his hope to have ample time to impart valuable life lessons to Frankie, aiming to make her proud and equip her with the skills to navigate life.

Looking ahead, Moore outlined his aspirations for the next 37 years, hoping to provide guidance and support to his daughter as she grows. 

In a recent interview, he described Frankie as the “last piece of my puzzle” and highlighted the transformative impact of fatherhood on his priorities. Moore now sees his role as a father as a central focus, expressing, “Now it’s not about me anymore. Now everything I do is for [Frankie].”
