‘Spider-Man’ Live-Action: Miles Morales Actor Casting Rumoured

Over the past decade, Miles Morales, our beloved Spider-Man, has carved out a unique spot in the superhero universe. Now, an intriguing rumour suggests that his long-awaited live-action debut might finally be in the works. Jeff Sneider, during a recent appearance on The Hot Mic, claimed that Sony Pictures has kicked off the process of casting a live-action Miles Morales.

However, details are scarce at the moment, including which film this version of Miles might feature in.

One popular theory floating around is that the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ could venture into a live-action universe in some form. This possibility seems as likely as a standalone film from Sony Pictures or even a role in Marvel Studios’ multiversal ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ The idea of Miles Morales making his live-action debut has been a hot topic in recent years.

The cast and crew of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe have been advocating for Miles to step into the live-action spotlight. Spider-Verse producer Amy Pascal has been particularly vocal about this potential, but she’s indicated that it won’t happen until the current animated Spider-Verse trilogy wraps up.

“Someday,” Pascal mentioned earlier this year. “Not until we make two more movies. Someday. Someday. We’re very happy doing [the animated Spider-Verse movies].”

‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ is expected to address the dramatic cliffhanger ending of ‘Across the Spider-Verse,’ with Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) stranded in an alternate universe alongside a more villainous version of himself (voiced by Jharrel Jerome). Peter B. Parker actor Jake Johnson shared his confidence in the project during an interview with ComicBook.com, praising the dedication and hard work of the team behind it.

“Here’s what I can promise, and I said it about the second one when we were in the middle of it: Phil Lord, Chris Miller, everybody, the producers on this, the directors they’re going to bring in… What they did on the first one is all the directors became executive producers. So they just keep adding to it. What I can promise is they are not going to stop until it’s excellent,” Johnson said.

“And if that means it takes a little bit longer if that means it’s even bigger if that means it’s longer — they don’t play by anybody’s rules. They work really hard. As actors in it, we’re always shocked that we get called in to record on this last one. I think it was a month before it screened, and we could not believe we were still recording. So they’re not going to quit until it’s great and I have nothing but faith in them. But in terms of giving anything away [about the story], can’t do it.”
