Bruce Springsteen’s new biopic, 'Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,' failed to strike a high note at the box office during its opening weekend. The Jeremy Allen White–led film earned just $9.1 million domestically following its 24th October premiere, landing in fourth place. Internationally, it brought in an additional $7 million, giving the movie a modest global total of $16.1 million—well below early projections.

Based on Warren Zanes' acclaimed book, 'Deliver Me From Nowhere' explores a deeply personal chapter in Springsteen's life. The story follows the musician as he battles depression, isolation, and generational trauma while creating his 1982 masterpiece 'Nebraska.'

Scott Cooper on 'Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere'

Writer-director Scott Cooper focused his 'Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere' adaptation on the raw emotional core of Zanes' book, seeking to portray a quiet, introspective version of Springsteen rather than the rock icon fans know from the stage. Cooper explained in past interviews that his goal was to capture the tension between Springsteen's mythic public image and his private struggles, finding cinematic beauty in the artist’s silence, hesitation, and vulnerability.

With a production budget of $55 million and a release across more than 3,400 theatres, 'Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere' still has room to grow. Audiences have responded favourably, giving it a B+ CinemaScore, while critics remain divided with a 60% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Anime Thriller 'Chainsaw Man–The Movie: Reze Arc' Slashes Its Way to No. 1

Topping the weekend box office was 'Chainsaw Man–The Movie: Reze Arc', distributed by Sony's anime label Crunchyroll. The film earned an impressive $17.3 million domestically across both subtitled and dubbed versions. Internationally, it has already raked in over $108 million, setting the stage for another major anime box office success following 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.'

The movie continues the story of the hit manga and anime series, which has built a massive global following.

'The Black Phone 2' Keeps Horror Strong at the Box Office

In second place, 'The Black Phone 2' continued horror’s box office dominance. The Scott Derrickson-directed sequel starring Ethan Hawke earned $13 million in its second weekend—a 52% drop from its debut—but still holds strong with $48 million domestic and $80.4 million worldwide. The film's success reinforces 2025's trend of horror outperforming expectations across multiple releases.

'Regretting You' Surprises with Strong Debut

Coming in third, 'Regretting You'—the latest adaptation of a Colleen Hoover bestseller—overperformed with $12.8 million domestically and another $10 million overseas, totalling $22.85 million worldwide.

The romantic drama stars Allison Williams as Morgan, a mother navigating grief and betrayal alongside her teenage daughter, Clara, played by McKenna Grace. The film also features Mason Thames, Dave Franco, Scott Eastwood, and Willa Fitzgerald.

As the second of four planned Hoover adaptations (following 'It Ends With Us' and ahead of 'Verity' and 'Reminders of Him'), 'Regretting You' demonstrates that Hoover’s stories continue to resonate with moviegoers and drive consistent box office results.
