‘Squid Game Season’ 2 Will be Released in December 2024, Confirms Lee Jung-Jae

Exciting updates are out about the future of ‘Squid Game.’ We’ve known for a while that the second season of this hit series was set to debut in 2024, but now we have a more specific timeframe.

Initially, Netflix hinted that Season 2 would drop in the latter half of 2024. However, Business Insider reports that series star Lee Jung-jae has provided an even clearer picture. When asked about the show’s return, Lee said, “It will be released in December.” Though Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed this date, it seems likely that we can expect the new season to premiere in December 2024.

In this upcoming season, Lee Jung-jae’s character, Seong Gi-hun, will reportedly abandon his plans to go to the U.S. and instead embark on a mission driven by a new motive. Fans can also look forward to the return of Lee Byung-hun as Hwang In-ho (Front Man), Wi Ha-joon as Officer Hwang Jun-ho, and Gong Yoo as the enigmatic Salesman.

The first season of ‘Squid Game’ premiered on Netflix in 2021, created by Hwang Dong-hyuk. It depicts a deadly contest where 456 players risk their lives playing twisted versions of children’s games for a massive cash prize. The series was an immediate success, racking up over 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first four weeks, making it Netflix’s most-watched show ever.
