To differentiate out in the jam-packed streaming market, each season experimented with different storytelling techniques, such as musical episodes or genre crossovers.

The show's ability to mix character-driven drama with high-concept sci-fi has been vital to its ongoing popularity, laying the way for an even more ambitious fourth season.
