‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 is “Halfway” Completed After Weeks of Production

Stranger Things Season 5 Production

After 24 weeks of hard work, ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 is celebrating reaching the midway point. Ross Duffer, the show’s creator and showrunner, marked the occasion with a cheerful Instagram post. He wrote: “Week 24. Happy halfway to the best cast and crew ever,” alongside a picture of the entire cast and crew. Interestingly, the photo had two people blurred out. The post also featured a video of Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, dropping a marble into a jar to mark the week’s completion.

Season 5, the final chapter of ‘Stranger Things,’ will consist of eight episodes. Although there’s no release date yet, fans are eagerly waiting. Maya Hawke, who joined the cast in season 3, recently teased: “We’re making, basically, eight movies. The episodes are very long.”

Filming for the new season kicked off at the beginning of the year and is expected to wrap up by the end of 2024. Post-production work will continue into the following year. Fans can also look forward to the return of Jamie Campbell Bower as the menacing Vecna, who narrowly escaped capture by Nancy, Steve, and Robin in the previous season.

In an interview with Collider last year, the Duffer Brothers shared some intriguing details about season 5, hinting at a significant focus on Noah Schnapp’s character, Will Byers. Matt Duffer revealed, “Will’s going to be a big part and focus, is really all I can say of season five, in his journey. We’re starting to see his coming of age, really. Which has been challenging for a number of reasons, some of which are supernatural. But you’re starting to see him come into his own.”
