Sydney Sweeney is ready for more 'Housemaid' movies and says she would happily return if sequels move forward.
The actress stars as Millie in director Paul Feig's psychological thriller 'The Housemaid' and has made it clear she is eager to continue the story. Sweeney, 28, says she would love to reprise the role, explaining that she has been a huge fan of the books and would be just as excited as readers to see more of the series brought to life and to explore Millie's journey further.
Sydney Sweeney's Character in 'The Housemaid' Resonates With Her
She also shared why the character resonates so strongly with her. Millie is bold, fearless, and unafraid to stand up for what she believes in. Sydney Sweeney says she is drawn to characters like that and loves movies that fully embrace female rage and strength.

There is plenty of material for future films. Author Freida McFadden expanded the story beyond her 2022 bestseller with 'The Housemaid's Secret' in 2023 and 'The Housemaid Is Watching' in 2024, along with a short story titled 'The Housemaid's Wedding' set between the two novels.
'The Housemaid' Potential Sequels
At the New York premiere of 'The Housemaid,' McFadden shared her excitement about the possibility of sequels, saying it would be a dream to see the rest of the books adapted and praising Feig as the perfect choice to continue the series.

Feig, 63, agrees that more films are possible if audiences show up to support the movie. He also said it was a relief and a joy to have McFadden's approval, noting that some authors can be very protective of their work. He praised her as a natural entertainer who understood the goal of making the film engaging and cinematic, while still staying true to the book. Any changes, he added, were made to enhance the story for the screen.
'The Housemaid' is now playing in theatres.
