Sydney Sweeney Set to Produce And Star in New Religious Horror Film

Sydney Sweeney, celebrated for her roles in ‘Euphoria’ and ‘The White Lotus’, is set to both produce and star in a new religious horror film titled ‘Immaculate.’ In the movie, Sweeney portrays Cecilia, a devout woman who embarks on a journey through the European countryside to an Italian convent, only to uncover unsettling and ominous truths.
While the official release date is yet to be determined, Neon has secured North American distribution rights for the film. Teddy Schwarzman of ‘Black Bear’ will produce alongside Sweeney under her Fifty-Fifty Films banner.

The project marks a reunion with key contributors from ‘The White Lotus’, including Simona Tabasco and David Bernad of Middle Child Pictures. Bernad, who previously collaborated with Sweeney on an HBO dark comedy-drama, will co-produce. ‘Immaculate’ also features Alvaro Morte from ‘Money Heist’, Dora Romano from ‘The Hand Of God’, and Benedetta Porcaroli of Netflix’s ‘Baby’ fame.

The psychological horror film was filmed in Rome, and the shooting wrapped up earlier this year.
This represents the second recent partnership between Neon and Black Bear, following the release of ‘Ferrari,’ featuring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz, scheduled to hit theatres on Christmas Day.

Additionally, Sydney Sweeney’s recent romantic comedy with Glen Powell, titled ‘Anyone But You,’ is set to premiere in UK cinemas on December 26. The movie, based on William Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing,’ unfolds against the picturesque backdrop of a Sydney vacation. It tells the story of two characters who, despite seemingly disliking each other, find it hard to resist their attraction.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Sweeney revealed that she got bitten by a poisonous spider while shooting scenes for ‘Anyone But You’.
