Taylor Swift Starts Countdown to 'The Tortured Poets Department' Release

The announcement of Taylor Swift's eleventh album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ which will be released in 2022, has excited fans. This announcement came amid news that Swift had won a Grammy for her album ‘Midnights.’

Swift, who is well-known for having a strong affinity for the number 13, has been teasing her fans on Instagram Stories to pre-order the album. With a video titled "13 Days Until The Tortured Poets Department" and an album preorder link, Swift celebrated the meaning of "13" in her life on Instagram.

The Grammy-winning musician's connection to the number "13" stems from her 13th December birthdate, which also happens to be Friday the 13th, and the 13-second opening to her first No. 1 country hit.

To further heighten the excitement, SiriusXM recently revealed the debut of ‘Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version),’ a tribute to Swift’s favourite song and her re-releases, which will coincide with the album’s 19th April release date. When the album is released, the channel will be the only place to see the whole thing.

Since ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ was unveiled at the 2024 Grammy Awards, Swift has been actively promoting it and thanking her fans for their unwavering support. The five stages of heartbreak—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—will all be covered in-depth on the album. In addition, Swift selected songs from her vast discography for five unique playlists on Apple Music, each of which represented a different stage of heartbreak.

On 19th April 2024, at midnight, 'The Tortured Poets Department’ will be released to the public, ushering in a new chapter in the remarkable career of Taylor Swift.
