Taylor Swift’s 100th Eras Tour Show: Anticipated Highlights

The pop superstar is set to perform three consecutive nights at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, England, this week. Among these performances is a landmark event: her 100th Eras Tour show. Both fans and the city of Liverpool are abuzz with excitement, eager to celebrate this monumental occasion.

In preparation for the tour stop, the Liverpool City Council has unveiled a series of art installations across the city, inspired by each of Swift’s albums. According to the BBC, these installations feature a butterfly, a moss-covered piano, a floral swing bench, and a “Red” room. Claire McColgan, director of Liverpool City Council’s Culture Liverpool team, emphasised the installations’ significance, highlighting Swift’s “exceptional and seismic” impact on both the music industry and the city itself.

McColgan expressed enthusiasm for the city’s tribute, stating, “Even if you haven’t got a ticket for Taylor, you can come to Liverpool and enjoy a bit of Taylor magic.” This initiative allows fans without concert tickets to still partake in the celebration and experience the spirit of Swift’s music.

Speculation is rife among fans that the ‘So High School’ singer might have something extraordinary planned for the 100th show, particularly given the significance of her lucky number 13. For instance, fans have pointed out potential hints that Swift may have dropped about a music video for ‘But Daddy I Love Him’ during her 1989 set at her third show in Edinburgh, inferred from the colour combinations she wore.

Throughout the Eras Tour, Swift has been known for making special announcements and surprising her audience. Her love for Easter eggs and hidden clues has kept fans eagerly anticipating every performance.

A notable moment from the tour was during the Los Angeles show on August 9, 2023, the final show of the first U.S. leg. Swift announced that the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) re-recording would be released. She teased this announcement by wearing several blue outfits throughout her performance, symbolising the era of the album. “You know how I love to plan things, and how I love to surprise you with the things I plan. It’s my love language with you,” Swift told the crowd ahead of the official announcement.

Similarly, during the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) announcement at the Kansas City show, Swift surprised fans by premiering the music video for ‘I Can See You’, a vault track from the re-recorded album. She invited her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner and actress Joey King, who starred in the music video, onstage to celebrate the premiere. These surprise elements have become a beloved aspect of Swift’s tours, adding to the anticipation and excitement surrounding each performance.
