‘The Challenge’ 40th Season Trailer: CT's Dramatic Stretcher Exit, Johnny Proclaims “Right Hand of The Devil”

The 40th season of ‘The Challenge’ promises to be an epic battle, pitting competitors from different eras against each other. “If you’re here, it’s because you’ve been a part of Challenge history,” host TJ Lavin announces in the first trailer for ‘The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras’. “We’ve chosen the toughest players in 40 seasons.”

This highly anticipated season will bring together 40 competitors from across the show's history. Among the legends competing for a share of the $1 million prize are Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio, Tori Deal, Aneesa Ferreira, Derrick Kosinski, Mark Long, Cara Maria Sorbello, Laurel Stucky, Chris “CT” Tamburello, Darrell Taylor, and Jordan Wiseley. Contestants will be divided into four “eras” based on when they joined the franchise. “Every time we turn around, there’s another twist,” Devenanzio notes in the trailer.

Cara Maria Sorbello adds, “We don’t know how it’s going to be played out.” Uncertainty is a constant in ‘The Challenge’, where strategies and alliances can shift in an instant, ensuring that no competitor can ever feel completely secure. Long-standing rivalries are expected to fuel drama.

Garcia and Deal have clashed for years, both on the show and on social media. Their feud intensified when Deal posted a cast photo with a clown emoji over Garcia’s face, prompting Garcia to retaliate with harsh words. Deal accused Garcia of libel, but Garcia fired back, telling Deal not to “throw stones when you live in a glass house.” Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio, a perennial target due to his record seven wins, warns in the trailer,  “What you do today is going to burn your a-- tomorrow. I am the right hand of the devil.” His presence alone guarantees intense competition and strategic manoeuvring.

Jordan Wiseley recently took to Instagram to express his frustrations about the challenging conditions faced during filming. “When I say ‘a challenging house is one of the worst environments to be in’ I’m not exaggerating,” he wrote.

“This one was by far the worst treatment we’ve ever received as a cast and it’s taken a toll.” Wiseley elaborated on his struggles, sharing that the cast was “treated like s---, we sleep like s---, we are fed like s---, our schedules are dog s---.” He claimed that the gruelling 20-hour days during filming severely impacted his physical strength, showcasing the extreme conditions contestants endure for a shot at victory.
