‘The Killer’s Game’ Trailer: Dave Bautista is a Hitman in New Action Comedy

Dave Bautista is stepping into the spotlight as the lead in the upcoming action-comedy, ‘The Killer’s Game.’ Bautista plays Joe Flood, a hitman facing a major twist in his life. When Joe is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decides to take drastic action by hiring a hitman to end his life. The plot takes an unexpected turn when it turns out the diagnosis was a mistake. This role promises to be a rollercoaster for Bautista’s character, blending action, romance and comedy.

In addition to his assassin lifestyle, Joe Flood is in a loving relationship with Maize, who has no clue about his secret career until things spiral out of control. The film’s synopsis reveals more about the plot: “When top hitman Joe Flood is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decides to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. But when the very hitmen he hired also target his ex-girlfriend, he must fend off an army of assassin colleagues and win back the love of his life before it’s too late.”

Directed by seasoned stunt performer and assistant director J.J. Perry, ‘The Killer’s Game’ is adapted from Jay Bonansinga’s novel. Bautista shared his thoughts on the film and his new role with People magazine. “I’ve never been, like, really a full-on leading man — you know, a guy who’s kicking ass and getting the girl and saying cool stuff,” Bautista explained.

He also mentioned that while the film mixes romance and comedy with action, it wasn’t something he actively pursued. “Not that this is the rom-com that I’ve been chasing, but there are a lot of romantic moments and there’s a lot of comedic moments,” he added.

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Terry Crews, known for his role in ‘Brooklyn 99,’ who will be taking on a completely different character as a fellow assassin. The cast also features Ben Kingsley, Pom Klementieff, Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror.
