‘The Last Of Us’ Season 2 Drops New Teaser
HBO has given fans their first proper look at the much-anticipated return of ‘The Last of Us,’ but it seems we might have to wait a bit longer for the series to air. The teaser for Season 2 has been released, promising an even more intense and emotional ride. Following the conclusion of the first season in March 2023, a second season was swiftly greenlit.
The upcoming season is set to take a darker turn, with new characters, poignant moments, and, of course, more infections when it premieres next year. The new clip is part of Max’s latest ‘coming soon’ teaser, where Joel (Pedro Pascal) reflects on his experiences from the first season. In the teaser, Joel is seen making the pivotal decision to save Ellie from the Fireflies.

The clip hints at a raid on the Jackson, Wyoming community, scenes of individuals fighting off both humans and the infected, and the introduction of new characters including Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and Dana (Isabela Merced), alongside Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Wright.
One particularly intriguing moment in the teaser shows Catherine O’Hara’s mysterious new character questioning Joel: “Did you hurt her?” This line adds to the anticipation and mystery surrounding the new season.
The first season ended with Joel killing Marlene (Merle Dandridge) and the Fireflies to save Ellie from a potentially fatal brain surgery that could have ended the fungal apocalypse. Joel has been keeping the truth about what happened at the hospital from Ellie as they journey to Jackson, Wyoming. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return as Joel and Ellie, joined by Rutina Wesley as Maria and Gabriel Luna as Tommy.
New faces include Isabela Merced as Dina, who will be Ellie’s love interest, and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, a soldier on a quest for revenge. Craig Mazin returns as showrunner for the second season, along with series co-creator Neil Druckmann. Although the release date for Season 2 has not been announced, it is expected to air in 2025.
