Lucasfilm is marking 4th May with a special global IMAX fan event for 'The Mandalorian and Grogu,' giving 'Star Wars' fans an early look at the upcoming film.

About 'The Mandalorian and Grogu'
Directed by Jon Favreau, the film expands the story of Disney+'s 'The Mandalorian' and brings Grogu, widely known as Baby Yoda, to the big screen for the first time. The movie opens in North America on 22nd May during Memorial Day weekend.

The announcement follows Favreau's recent appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where he shared the first 17 minutes of the film and reflected on how 'Star Wars' inspired his love of cinema.
Favreau directed the movie from a script written with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor. Filoni, a longtime creative force within the franchise, now oversees Lucasfilm's creative direction following Kathleen Kennedy's departure.
What's in 'The Mandalorian and Grogu'
Set after the fall of the Empire, the story follows Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and Grogu as they navigate a galaxy where Imperial warlords remain active while the New Republic works to maintain order.
'The Mandalorian and Grogu' also marks the first new 'Star Wars' movie to reach theatres since 'The Rise of Skywalker' in 2019.
