To most people, pouring a drink is just a quick flick of the wrist. But when Guillermo del Toro is behind the camera, even a simple splash of tequila turns into a total blockbuster!

In a new global campaign released on 18th March, Patrón Tequila is asking fans to look at the act of serving a drink in a whole new way. Their short film, titled 'The Perfect Pour,' turned a single glass of tequila into a beautiful tribute to hard work and excellence.

About 'The Perfect Pour'

The 30-second clip starts with a close-up of a drink being poured before the camera pulls back to reveal a massive production. A synchronised crew of animated skeletons is shown working together on set to capture the shot. A voiceover asks if they really needed one of the world's most iconic directors just to film a simple pour, before answering that they absolutely did because Patrón believes in doing things the right way. The camera then lands on del Toro himself, sitting in his director's chair with a proud thumbs-up.

This collaboration comes at a high point for the director, whose adaptation of 'Frankenstein' just took home three Oscars earlier this month. As del Toro turns to toast his hardworking skeleton crew, the narrator explains that the director brought them along because, much like the tequila brand, he refuses to compromise on his vision. The ad was filmed at the Patrón Hacienda and reflects a shared respect for taking the time to create something truly worthy of being called art.

Guillermo del Toro's Views on 'The Perfect Pour'

In a statement about the project, Guillermo del Toro explained that perfection can't be rushed and must be built frame by frame. He believes in choosing artistry over industry and soul over process.

This philosophy fits perfectly with the brand's own history in Jalisco, where each bottle is crafted by over 60 artisans using only three simple ingredients. Roberto Ramirez-Laverde, the brand's global senior vice president, added that how something is made truly matters, and they have never cut corners when it comes to their craft. Fans can catch the film's TV debut on 18th March during the Warriors vs. Celtics game on ESPN.
