Transported to Brazil in 1977, 'The Secret Agent' follows Marcelo (Moura), a tech expert in his early forties, as he navigates life on the run. Fleeing imminent threats and longing to reunite with his young son, he finds temporary sanctuary in Recife amid the vibrant chaos of carnival week. Instead, he discovers a city riddled with violence and paranoia, where safety is more elusive than ever.

The trailer for 'The Secret Agent,' set to an Ennio Morricone score from Salvatore Samperi's 1968 drama 'Come Play With Me,' hints at a moody, suspenseful exploration of fractured family ties and political turmoil, steering far from the path of a conventional action thriller.
