Timothée Chalamet Breaks a New Box Office Record!

Timothée Chalamet is the box office king!

At the young age of 28, Chalamet has accomplished a feat not seen since John Travolta more than 40 years ago: two top-grossing movies in less than eight months. His most recent roles, in ‘Dune: Part Two’ and ‘Wonka’, have each brought in more than $200 million domestically since last July, according to Indiewire.

Travolta, who is currently 70 years old, was the last actor to pull off this extraordinary feat in the 1970s with the films ‘Grease’ and ‘Saturday Night Fever’, which were released in 1977 and 1978, respectively.

In the third live-action version of Roald Dahl’s iconic story, ‘Wonka’, Chalamet plays the adored character Willy Wonka. The film, which debuted in December and made $218 million domestically and $630 million worldwide, was praised highly by critics.

In the meantime, to critical acclaim and $494.7 million worldwide, ‘Dune: Part Two’, starring Chalamet as Paul Atreides alongside Zendaya, Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, and Florence Pugh, debuted in theatres on 1st March.

Since his breakthrough performance in the 2016 film ‘Call Me By Your Name’, which earned him an Oscar nomination, Chalamet’s career at the box office has been on a steady upward trajectory.

Subsequently, the actor will play Bob Dylan in a forthcoming biopic about the legendary singer-songwriter. In recent photos, Chalamet is seen walking around New York City holding a guitar, fully embodying Dylan’s persona. Chalamet’s musical abilities should be highlighted in the biopic, which is said to centre on Dylan’s contentious transition to the electric guitar after his outstanding performance in Wonka.
