Tom Cruise and Doug Liman aren't ready to abandon their plans for a sequel to the 2014 sci-fi action film 'Edge of Tomorrow.' When it hit cinemas in May 2014, the film pulled in a respectable amount of money but didn't quite achieve blockbuster status. However, it found a second life among Cruise fans after its release on digital and streaming platforms, with many considering it one of the actor’s standout films.
Since then, Cruise, director Doug Liman, and co-star Emily Blunt have all shown interest in making a sequel. Despite the passing of nearly a decade, the project hasn't materialised yet. However, Liman recently reassured fans that the sequel is still very much on the table. In an interview with Empire, he denied any notion that the plans were dead.

"No, we keep talking about it. We love that world," Liman said. He even revealed that he and Cruise recently rewatched the film. "Tom and I just actually rewatched it about two months ago because I hadn’t seen it in 10 years. I was like, ‘Wow, that is a really good movie.’"
'Edge of Tomorrow' follows Cruise as a soldier caught in a time loop, reliving the same day repeatedly while battling to stop an alien invasion that threatens humanity. Despite its initial lukewarm reception at the box office, the film has since been embraced by fans, cementing its status as a cult favourite.
