Tom Cruise Sends Hundreds of Personalized Christmas Cakes as Festive Gifts

Tom Cruise is continuing his annual tradition of spreading holiday cheer by sending a special Christmas gift to various stars in the entertainment industry: a $125 coconut cake. This white coconut bundt cake, exclusively crafted by Doan’s Bakery in Los Angeles, comes with a personalized hand-written note from the ‘Mission: Impossible’ star. 

Past recipients of this festive treat include celebrities like Tom Hanks, Kirsten Dunst, and Jimmy Fallon.

Cruise first discovered this particular cake in 2008 when his then-wife Katie Holmes received a recommendation from her co-star Diane Keaton. The tradition has since become a yearly affair, and the bakery reportedly hires an additional staff member during the holiday season to manage the surge in orders.

Rosie O'Donnell and Tom Cruise have shared a 25-year friendship, and the holiday season for O'Donnell isn't complete until Cruise's delicious coconut cake arrives at her doorstep. Last Christmas, O'Donnell proudly displayed the sweet gift on Instagram, expressing her love for Cruise.

The fame of Cruise's coconut cake extends beyond O'Donnell; his Top Gun co-star Jay Ellis even flew it to Mexico last year for a family Christmas celebration. Ellis recounted the unique journey of the cake on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’, revealing that they froze the cake for the trip and enjoyed it on Christmas Day after thawing it out.

Tom Hanks, another recipient of Cruise's cake, described it as so great that you can truly savour it only once a year. The cake has become a sought-after delight at Cruise's production company, ‘Playtone’. Colleagues eagerly anticipate its annual delivery, and according to Hanks, the company starts savouring each slice as the days go by, playfully noting that it's mathematical proof that if you keep cutting everything in half, you'll never run out of Tom Cruise cake.

Several other well-known personalities who have indulged in the renowned Tom Cruise cakes include Cary Elwes, Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, Elle and Dakota Fanning, Kirsten Dunst, Jon Hamm, Miles Teller, Cobie Smulders, Graham Norton, and Brooke Shields.

On a different note, actor Timothée Chalamet shared the "inspiring" advice he received from Cruise. Chalamet revealed that after meeting Cruise, the veteran actor sent him a motivating email. Cruise emphasized the standards of Old Hollywood, encouraging Chalamet to take charge of his training in dance and fighting, highlighting the personal responsibility in today's industry. Chalamet described the email as a "war cry" that left a lasting impact on him.
