Although Tom Sandoval is accustomed to being in the spotlight, America's Got Talent is providing him with a completely new platform. Sandoval, who gained fame on Vanderpump Rules, is now leading his own band, 'Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras,' and making a comeback to the AGT live rounds with a fresh sense of purpose and style. His objective was to change the public perception, astound judges, and astonish audiences. He informed Decider, 'We like to be a little extra,' and vowed to put on a show that was larger, more flamboyant, and featured a wider range of musical styles than anything he had ever performed.

From Scandoval to Showman
Sandoval's audition exceeded all expectations. He got four yeses for his full-band theatrics cover of A-ha's 'Take On Me,' leaving even the most doubtful viewers in awe of the passion and dedication. This time felt like a second chance for someone whose reputation was damaged after the notorious "Scandoval" cheating affair in 2023.
He told Entertainment Weekly, 'It’s allowed people to see me for who I am—beyond the drama.' Online fans started to respond to the notion that perhaps there is more to Tom than tabloids portray, while judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel commended his stage presence and desire to put himself out there.
The Most Extras Are Bringing The Heat
Sandoval isn't working alone on this. His group, 'Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras,' is a polished live performance act that combines decades' worth of classics with an extravagant, dramatic flair. The trio intends to switch up their visual production and switch up their genres as they enter the AGT live rounds, with hints of additional lighting, costumes, and choreography.

Sandoval hinted that the band would go toward rock, funk, or even a theatrical Broadway performance, saying, 'We're playing with a different style this time.' 'I want to show that we’re more than a cover band—we’re entertainers.'
Why This Performance Matters
Through his band's national tours and appearances on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test and The Traitors, Sandoval has gradually restored his reputation. However, AGT has a distinct platform that appeals to middle-class Americans as well as Bravo aficionados. He is aware of the enormous stakes. 'People may tune in expecting drama,' he said, 'but I hope they walk away impressed by the performance.'
Regardless of the outcome, Sandoval views AGT as a chance to demonstrate that he is a performer with genuine aspirations and a team supporting him, rather than just a scandal or a reality celebrity.
With a band behind him and a microphone in hand, Tom Sandoval is rewriting his story. Anticipate spectacle, reinvention, and possibly a redemption story in real time as AGT's live rounds begin.
