Quentin Tarantino has finally named the film he loves most out of his entire body of work — and the answer gives fans a deeper look into how he views his legacy.
During his appearance on 'The Church of Tarantino' podcast, Quentin Tarantino, the acclaimed director, reflected on his major films, from 'Pulp Fiction' to 'Inglourious Basterds'. When asked to choose a favourite, Tarantino explained that 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' holds the most special place in his heart. Released in 2019 and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, the movie captures 1960s Hollywood in a nostalgic and deeply personal way, which may explain why it resonates most with him.

However, Quentin Tarantino also clarified that he believes 'Inglourious Basterds' is the best film he has ever made — calling it his true masterpiece. As for ‘Kill Bill’, he described it as the most quintessentially "Tarantino" film he’s ever created, blending all his trademark obsessions, influences and imagination into one cinematic experience.
Looking at his screenplays, the director also singled out ‘Inglourious Basterds’ as his strongest script, closely followed by ‘The Hateful Eight’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’.
What is Quentin Tarantino Currently Pursuing?
Quentin Tarantino is currently writing a spin-off sequel titled ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’, which will focus on Brad Pitt’s stuntman character from ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. Although he penned the script, he confirmed that David Fincher will direct the film — a decision he said stems from deep respect, calling both himself and Fincher the two best directors working today. He said Fincher’s interest in adapting his work shows a level of appreciation that he values highly.

In addition, Quentin Tarantino spoke about why he decided to cancel his planned film ‘The Movie Critic’. He said the story was originally envisioned as a TV series, then reworked into a film, but ultimately felt the concept lacked the appeal audiences expect from a Tarantino title. He explained that making a captivating story about a film critic — either as a show or a movie — felt risky and ultimately less compelling than his other projects, so he shelved it after much consideration.
