Victoria Canal Opens Up About Her Bold ‘California Sober’ Music Video

Victoria Canal is challenging conventional notions of beauty, offering a multidimensional perspective through her latest work. Her music video for the song ‘California Sober’ marks a significant shift in her artistic direction, embracing themes of sexuality and self-expression.

“The music video is inspired by my very exciting summer where I explored my queerness and attended many queer parties,” Canal reveals. The video, set at a house party, captures moments of connection and sensual energy. “I just wanted to paint a montage of feeling free with someone and exploring that connection.”

Canal’s message to her fans is about self-empowerment and embracing one’s own sensuality, regardless of body type. “If you’re disabled, if you’re fat, if you’re trans, if you’re non-binary, whatever body you have, you deserve to feel empowered and hot,” she emphasizes. “That’s part of the beauty of being alive.”

Reflecting on her own experiences, Canal speaks about her journey with body image and self-acceptance. “People will always define me by my disability, but that’s just one part of who I am. Once people get to know me and my music, they see the full picture.”

In a recent turn of events, Canal addressed rumours about her romantic involvement with Tom Cruise. While she found the speculation amusing, she noted, “It’s funny and kind of shocking that people think I could be dateable on such a high profile level. It’s a nice change from the usual assumptions about people with disabilities.”
