Watch Mitski’s New Music Video For ‘Star’

Mitski has unveiled a striking new video for her track ‘Star.’ The ethereal visual accompaniment for ‘Star.’ lifted from her recent album ‘The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We,’ was crafted under the direction of Maegan Houang. Shot during the summer of 2023, this marks the latest collaboration between Mitski and Houang, who previously joined forces for the videos of ‘Happy,’ ‘The Only Heartbreaker’ and ‘Stay Soft.’

In a press statement, Houang shared her vision for the video, stating, “Unlike the more narrative or concept-driven videos Mitski and I have done together previously, I wanted this video to capture the impressionistic circularity we all encounter.” She elaborated, “Our lives sway between light and dark, repeating in an endless loop where permanence eludes us. The moments of joy fleet by, just as the tough times do.”

Mitski is gearing up for her tour across the UK at the end of this month. Commencing in Edinburgh on April 27th, she’ll conclude the tour in Zurich on May 30th. Moreover, Mitski has been revealed as the closing headliner for All Points East 2024. The lineup includes a slew of acts such as Beabadoobee, TV Girl, Ethel Cain, Arlo Parks, Sir Chloe, Wasia Project, Infinity Song, Wisp, Towa Bird, Strawberry Guy, and bby. The Japanese-American musician unleashed her seventh and latest album, ‘The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We’, in September last year.
