Who is Lady Deadpool? Let's Find Out

If you've been following the buzz around ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ you might have noticed that a recent teaser trailer hints at Lady Deadpool's appearance in the film. This raises the burning question: who will play Lady Deadpool? Speculation ranges from Taylor Swift to Blake Lively to Morena Baccarin. But perhaps a more pressing question is, “Who exactly is Lady Deadpool?” Let's dive in and find out!

In the Marvel Universe, Earth-3010's Deadpool is Wanda Wilson, also known as Chickpool or Ladypool, but most commonly called Lady Deadpool. Her motivations include money, television, junk food, and occasionally love. Lady Deadpool first appeared in ‘Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #7’ in 2010. Her world is in turmoil, with the United States embroiled in a civil war sparked by a power-hungry federal government. Wanda leads a rebel resistance against General America's loyalists.

After a previous encounter where Wanda amputates the General's right arm, their rematch sees General America gaining the upper hand. However, Earth-616 Deadpool intervenes, helping Wanda defeat the General. Wanda then joins other Deadpool variants in the Deadpool Corps to save the Multiverse. Their adventures take them to Earth-20110, where they confront undead Avengers resurrected by mind-controlling berets.

The Corps defeats these zombie Avengers and eventually straps "Mimepool" to a rocket, sending it to the beret's origin planet.

Post-Deadpool Corps, Wanda returns to her life of solitude, watching TV. But when her cable goes out, she re-enters the world and takes a job protecting Charles Randolph, a failed actor turned rebel leader. Wanda falls for Charles despite his girlfriend, and after saving him from an attacker, she believes they are destined to be together.

Wanda's obsession with Charles leads to a series of chaotic events, including a confrontation with General America. She defeats the General in a fierce battle but is later attacked by Tristan Sheen. Charles defends Wanda, but both he and Tristan end up dead. Despite this, Lady Deadpool survives.

Lady Deadpool faces another threat when an evil version of the Deadpool Corps, led by Dreadpool, starts hunting Deadpools across the multiverse. She is one of the few to survive and warn Earth-616 Deadpool, leading a resistance against the evil Deadpools. In a final act of sacrifice, Lady Deadpool pilots the Deadpool Corps spaceship, the Bea Arthur, into Galactipool, killing them both.

Given the excitement around Lady Deadpool’s potential appearance in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ it’s likely Marvel will resurrect Wanda Wilson in future comics. Whether the film will closely follow her comic storyline is unclear, but she will probably share Wade's abilities and colourful language. She might also be portrayed as a more stable and leadership-oriented version of Deadpool, though a part of us hopes for a wild, A.I. Bea Arthur Lady Deadpool.
