During a taped interview on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show,’ the actress, who is currently promoting her memoir, ‘Worthy,’ addressed the speculation surrounding their relationship. This comes after a long string of statements on the couple’s rocky marriage.
When Barrymore broached the topic of the couple’s separation, Pinkett Smith stated, “We’re staying together forever. I tried. We tried.” This declaration follows her revelation last month that she and the King Richard actor had been separated since 2016.
Speaking to Hoda Kotb on ‘Today Show’ in October, she shared, “By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying.” Pinkett Smith acknowledged that they were both entangled in their idealized versions of each other, which contributed to the strain on their marriage.
