At the 2025 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards held at New York's American Museum of Natural History, rapper and style‑maven A$AP Rocky accepted the coveted Fashion Icon Award—a prize his partner, global superstar Rihanna secured in 2014. In an emotional speech, Rocky credited Rihanna with inspiring his journey, declaring to her: "We did it, baby!" As a couple with strong roots in family, fashion, and success together, their appearance was a strong fusion of the professional and personal lives. 

Rocky's Victory and a Tribute to Rihanna

A$AP Rocky's victory at the 2025 CFDA Awards represents a significant turning point in his career. Rocky was chosen for the Fashion Icon Award, according to the CFDA's official release, because of his distinctive personal style, brand relationships with Ray-Ban and Puma, and his long-standing influence on fashion through his creative firm AWGE.

Rocky took a moment during his acceptance speech to turn to face Rihanna in front of the crowd and say, "Babygirl, I love you, boo. You won this so long ago. Remember what I told you? You inspire me. I'm gonna win that s—t one day. And look! We did it, baby!" His heartfelt tribute highlights not only the respect he has for her work in fashion, but also the sense of partnership between them.

The couple's relationship spans back more than a decade, starting as friends and later going public around November 2020. Since then, they have welcomed three children: sons RZA and Riot, and daughter Rocki Irish, born in September 2025. In relation to this, Rocky had recently confessed his pride in being a "girl dad" and described how fatherhood has shaped his style and approach to fashion.
