Witness Claims Ozzy Osbourne Danced in Graveyard and Howled at Headstones

Ozzy Osbourne may have sung about being ‘Under the Graveyard’ a few years ago, but it turns out he was dancing in one long before that.

A revelation surfaced on 16th May in The Times, detailing how in the ’70s, the former Black Sabbath frontman, now 75, was seen dancing and howling among gravestones near Rockfield Studios, a recording studio near Monmouth in South Wales. Tiffany Murray, daughter of Rockfield’s former resident chef, Joan, recounted the incident, explaining that she woke up one night to witness Osbourne’s bizarre behaviour.

“He truly scared the living s— out of me,” she said. “Even now, encountering Ozzy Osbourne in a graveyard at night would be the stuff of nightmares.”

Murray, who authored a memoir called ‘My Family and Other Rock Stars’ about her youth at Rockfield, shared that Osbourne quickly apologized for scaring her by gifting her a van full of toys from Harrods. “I still have the three little felt hippos, although the eyes are missing,” she recalled. “That episode taught me that rock stars can do really big wrong things but also have the means to make really big apologies.”

She also remembered Osbourne occasionally appearing at the studio’s French windows, firing a shotgun. “It was therapy for him,” she said with a shrug. “I don’t think you could do that now under current health and safety regulations.”

Late last year, Osbourne told Metal Hammer that he was ready to return to touring following several spinal surgeries, including his “final surgery” in September. “I’m feeling OK – it was just dragging on,” he said. “I thought I’d be back on my feet months ago, I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong. I can’t walk properly yet, but I’m not in any pain anymore, and the surgery on my spine went great.”

The newly announced Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee also expressed his desire to make “one more album” before retiring. A few months later, in January, Osbourne’s wife and manager Sharon revealed that the rocker is planning two final concerts in his hometown of Birmingham, England, as a farewell to fans.

“He won’t tour again, but we are planning on doing two more shows to say goodbye as he feels like ‘I have never said goodbye to my fans and I want to say goodbye properly,’” Sharon, 71, shared with Rolling Stone UK. However, exact dates for those shows have not yet been announced.

“We will do it in Aston Villa where Ozzy is from,” she continued. “His voice is still absolutely perfect. And all the time he has been off, he still does his singing lessons, so his voice is perfect. And he can joke, yeah.”
