Zayn Malik Talks About The Time He Saved Harry Styles From Mishap at One Direction Concert

During a recent episode of ‘Hot Ones,’ Zayn Malik reminisced about a hair-raising moment when he came to the rescue of his former One Direction bandmate, Harry Styles, during a concert mishap involving pyrotechnics.

The ‘Pillowtalk’ artist shared the incident on the show, revealing that although he hadn’t personally experienced burns from pyrotechnics, he vividly remembered the frightening incident involving Styles.

Malik teased the story by jokingly mentioning that the footage made him look heroic before delving into the details of the 2013 incident. In the video clip, Malik can be seen rushing to Styles’ aid as he wipes his head with a towel, unknowingly positioning himself dangerously close to the flames. Malik pushes Styles out of harm’s way just in time, averting a potentially hazardous situation.

Reflecting on the incident, Malik recalled, “Harry was right next to a pyro and the pyro was about to go off because they were on timers. And he had a towel over his head, and he had his head over the pyro, and he didn’t see that the pyro was there. So, you see me run from one side of the stage and just push him out of the way, and the pyro kind of like explodes in front of his face. That was really dangerous.”

In addition to the onstage mishap, Malik shared anecdotes about other technical glitches the band encountered during their early gigs. He recounted instances where power outages led to impromptu performances of the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ acapella style until the microphones were restored.

The British singer also took the opportunity to discuss his upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Room Under the Stairs,’ scheduled for release on 17th May via Mercury Records. He teased the album’s first single, ‘What I Am,’ set to drop on 15th March.

In a teaser video shared on Instagram, Malik expressed his desire for listeners to connect with his music on a deeper level, sharing his ambitions, fears and vulnerabilities. He emphasized his desire for authenticity by writing the album himself.
