This week in pop culture was a goodie bag with the perfect mix. Think about everything that makes the music industry what it is – new releases, award shows and just a little bit of drama. And, then, you’ve got this past week in music.
So, as we head into a new week of all things music, and leave an old one behind, here’s a look at all the happenings of the days gone by. And, we’d suggest bracing yourselves. From cheeky releases from Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X to tantalising K-Pop releases, this rundown has got you covered. Here’s all you need to know, as always.

2. Finneas bid farewell to Trump and his administration with a scathing track, ‘Where the Poison Is’, calling out the ex-President’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and more.
3. And, sister, Billie Eilish, soon followed the lead with an equally cheeky anthem – a new single called ‘Therefore I Am’. This one is a confident message to the haters.
4. Cardi B got into trouble after a photoshoot of her posing as the Hindu goddess, Durga, caused hurt sentiments amongst members of the Hindu community. The rapper was quick to respond and apologise to fans and viewers.
5. And, joining Billie and Finneas in spine-tingling releases, Taemin of K-Pop group SHINee, released his third album and a brand new track, ‘IDEA’. This track is a sultry ode to self-discovery.
6. Further, BTS released the full tracklist for their upcoming album, “BE”. The album will feature songs like ‘Life Goes On’, ‘Dynamite’, ‘Disease’ and more.
7. The Weeknd was officially announced as the performer for the 2020 Super Bowl Half Time show. Turns out, his success knows no bounds this year.
8. And, kickstarting his new era in music was Lil Nas X. The young rapper released, ‘HOLIDAY’, his first single in nearly two years. Now, this one is disarming, charming and everything in between.
9. K-Pop rookie group, TXT, dazzled fans with a nostalgic, moody music video for their track, ‘We Lost The Summer’. This one mourns the loss of time during the pandemic.
10. And, finally, Megan Thee Stallion brought good news’ with a confirmation that her debut studio album, “Good News” is slated for release on the 20th of November.
