Lana Del Rey Defends The Cover Art Of Latest Album
Lana Del Rey, the Goddess is back, guys! The ‘Lust For Life’ singer took to her social media to drop the tracklist and cover art of “Chemtrails Over the Country Club”. With a big difference in the aesthetics of the art, many have realised that this album is going to be really different.
During a recent interview, Lana Del Rey has mentioned that “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” is “folky, it’s beautiful, it’s super different from “Norman [F—ing Rockwell]“. And, one can see assume that by the information we’ve received till now.
Lana Del Rey Along With Her “Best Friends”?
Lana Del Rey has got ten women different ethnicities on the cover art of the album. The monochrome picture has got big smiles, pearls and white dresses. What looks like a post-lunch picture of friends has actually landed as the cover art, you might think the same, too.
However, critics have taken this against the singer, claiming that Lana Del Rey just wanted to include people from various background to stay away from bad press. Well, the singer took no time to defend this and pinned her comment on her Instagram post to clear these allegations.
Lana Del Rey Picks On The Critics, “Damn!”
Lana Del Rey captioned her Instagram post by suggesting that between the turmoil, there’s good music that needs to be appreciated. “There’s always turmoil and upheaval and in the midst of it- there’s always beautiful music too…introducing my new album chemtrails over the country club”
While defending her choice of cover art, she says, “I also want to say that with everything going on this year! And no this was not intended-these are my best friends, since you are asking today. And damn! As it happens when it comes to my amazing friends and this cover yes there are people of color on this records picture and that’s all I’ll say about that
but thank you.”
Lana Del Rey continues, “My beautiful friend Valerie from Del Rio Mexico, my dearest friend Alex and my gorgeous friend Dakota Rain as well as my sweetheart Tatiana…these are my friends this is my life. We are all a beautiful mix of everything- some more than others which is visible and celebrated in everything I do.”
“In 11 years working I have always been extremely inclusive without even trying to. My best friends are rappers my boyfriends have been rappers. My dearest friends have been from all over the place, so before you make comments again about a WOC/POC issue, I’m not the one storming the capital, I’m literally changing the world by putting my life and thoughts and love out there on the table 24 seven. Respect it.”
The Title Track To Be Out Soon!
Lana Del Rey also shared teasers of the title track, ‘Chemtrails Over the Country Club’ on her social media handles. The song is going to be out on January 11, 2020.
In the teasers, we see snippets of the singer through many stages of her career. The tease ends with glimpses of what’s to come from Lana Del Rey. Pretty smart, innit? The singer has also mentioned that the music video will be here, too.
