It seems Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have actually called it quits. After multiple rumours and narratives going around about their relationship ending, Swifties have noticed something unusual on Taylor Swift’s Instagram account that might confirm the rumours. The explanation video for her ‘Midnights’ opener ‘Lavender Haze’ has been deleted off the page. The song, which was about her relationship with Joe Alwyn, affirms the news that the couple has split after six years of dating. “I happened upon the phrase ‘lavender haze’ when I was watching Mad Men,” she explained in her ‘Midnights Mayhem With Me’ video on Instagram. “I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love.” “I guess theoretically, when you’re in the lavender haze, you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud,” she added. “I think a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just ‘public figures,’ because we live in the era of social media. If the world finds out that you’re in love with somebody, they’re going to weigh in on it.”

Doja Cat actually dressed up as a cat for the 2023 Met Gala, and not just any cat but Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat, Choupette! Her jewel-encrusted look was finished with a cat ear headpiece and a prosthetic feline nose. She paid a tribute to the late designer’s cat since the theme of this year’s event was ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’. Doja Cat’s look for the event was curated by stylist Brett Alan Nelson. Lagerfeld adopted Choupette in 2011. The cat hilariously confirmed via an Instagram post that she would not be able to attend the event this year. “Many people invited me to walk the red carpet of the #METGALA2023 in tribute to Daddy, but we preferred to stay peacefully & cozy at home,” the post read. The post included photos of the lounging kitty. 

Cardi B served two looks at the 2023 Met Gala, and both were absolutely stunning! She kicked off the evening while leaving NYC’s The Mark Hotel in a gorgeous pink chiffon gown. The gown also had florals on the back which bloomed out like wings behind her.  However, when she reached the red carpet, she was wearing a sleek tuxedo gown with massive black roses and a Karl Lagerfeld-inspired grey hairdo. Fashion enthusiasts noticed that her looks were likely in reference to Chanel’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2017 show where Lily-Rose Depp walked in a frilly, powder pink gown and Lagerfeld later joined her on the runway in a sleek, shiny tux.  “This skirt is giving Chanel Boy bag, and the flowers — when you get a Chanel purse, you always get white flowers but this one is black. Up top, it’s giving Karl,” Cardi said on the red carpet. “I’m representing the House of Chanel and Karl at the same time.”

Olivia Rodrigo made everyone feel nostalgic with her 2023 Met Gala look! She was rocking a Thom Browne black-and-white gown held together by stunning florals at the bust. The gown looks like it was made out of string and that adds to the glamour of it all. She completed her look with a sleek bun that will remind you of Audrey Hepburn-esque micro-bangs. Rodrigo styled it with a simple winged eyeliner and berry-coloured lipstick just like Hepburn in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany's’. The theme for this year’s Met Gala was ‘Karl Lagerfelf: A Line of Beauty’. It will showcase more than 150 original designs by the late designer Lagerfeld which spans the former Chanel creative director’s seven-decade career. His original sketches are also all set to appear next to the objects on display.
