A Timeline of Lady Gaga’s ‘Chromatica’ era Looks
Lady Gaga’s brand new album, ‘Chromatica’, has finally arrived! This record was led by her previous singles, ‘Stupid Love’, ‘Rain on Me’ and her collab with the Kpop supergroup BLACKPINK, titled, ‘Sour Candy’. The album was initially set to arrive on April 10th, but was delayed due to the global coronavirus pandemic. But thankfully, she’s kept us well fed along the way. Not only did we get three singles before the album dropped, but her stunning cover art and photoshoots have also undoubtedly taken our breath away. While on one hand, as Gaga has mentioned, ‘Chromatica‘ is all about sound, healing and vibrancy. On the other hand, it’s also a whole new planet, where one can freely express themselves. And this is reflected perfectly in all of Gaga’s recent photoshoots for the album.
So, indulge in all her neon-metal extraterrestrial glory.
2. Lady Gaga collaborated with Paper Magazine and the concept behind this entire photoshoot bled into that of her album. It hinted at all things sci-fi and futuristic.
3. Paper Magazine also brought out this wild photo, which looks like something right out of ‘X Machina’. If love, robots and sci-fi is your cup of tea, then you better put this movie on your watchlist and Gaga’s album on your new listen-list.
4. If you didn’t notice before, now it’s crystal clear: Gaga’s fondness for the colour Pink and boy does she wear it well.
5. The contrast between the dark, eerie wilderness and Gaga in these bright colours makes this shoot absolutely surreal. We also dig that spiky collar, though it does look a tad bit heavy.
6. Here’s the first official look at the album art. It shows Gaga, in all her extraterrestrial glory. Between the metal, neon and claws – she’s ready to rule Chromatica.
7. We got a taste of Gaga in this pink bodysuit, piercings and fishnet in place for ‘Rain on Me’. And the music video? Well, it almost seemed to be paying homage to ‘Blade Runner 2049’. In other words, it was awesome.
8. Lady Gaga captioned this post – ” I hear the thunder coming down”. And she was right, because this album arrived with quite the bang.
9. Is it just us, or does that creature dangling from her bodysuit look like something out of the 1979 cult film, ‘Alien’? Remember those octopus-looking creatures? Yup, that’s what we’re talkin’ about.
10. And finally, this picture swept us off our feet and so, we needed you to see it too. The neon hair never gets old and boy, do Chromatica’s green skies look threatening. On that note, if there was one person who could rule a planet it would be Lady Gaga. And we’d pick her, time and again.
